FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How does Grace Valley Ministries support pastors?

We offer pastoral peer-to-peer support groups, regular opportunities to receive prayer, and a low-cost stay in a GVM cottage. Pastoral counseling is also available upon request for those who stay in the cottage.

  • What area are the pastors groups in?

We currently have pastors meeting in groups in areas north of Atlanta, GA. If you live outside of our group meeting area, there are resources available for you to start your own group.

  • How can my church support Grace Valley Ministries?

GVM would greatly appreciate your church's monthly financial support. Visit our donate page here. To receive our prayer requests and updates, sign up for our newsletter here.

  • How can I apply for a stay in the cottage?

Pastors and ministry leaders can fill out our application online.

When the application is received, a GVM staff member will get into contact with you within 48 hours.

  • How long is a typical stay in a cottage?

We provide stays for one week in order to encourage a truly significant time away from the demands of ministry. However, we also welcome stays of 3-6 nights as well. (We have a 3-day minimum stay to book the cottage.)

  • Can I bring my children with me to the cottage?

While we want to encourage couples who come to find babysitters so they can be more fully immersed in time alone with the Lord, for those who can’t make those arrangements we have a maximum number of children allowed at two plus an infant (parents of infants should plan to bring their own portable crib.)

  • Is counseling required for a stay?

No, it is optional. Individuals or couples can stay simply for a time of personal retreat or can request counseling in the application process. Our counseling ministry is pastoral in nature and provided by seasoned pastors and ministry leaders from the community. A clinical counselor is also available periodically if required.

  • Will I have access to Wi-Fi or TV?

In keeping with our hope for significant times of quiet and connection with the Father and one another, we do not provide cable TV. Currently, no Wi-Fi is available, but most mobile phones have reception.

  • How much does it cost to stay in a cottage?

While our desire is for pastors and ministry leaders to not be hindered by a financial obstacle, in order to manage proper stewardship of the cottage we have the current policy:

    We require a $100 non-refundable deposit. Then it’s $50 per night, with a 3-night minimum stay.

For those in financial hardship, a separate application for a scholarship can be requested.

For pastors or ministry leaders who come just for a vacation stay, we request an additional voluntary donation to be added to the above costs.
